Ensuring shipments comply with all relevant laws is the duty of the Customs Clearance Officer in order to expedite the import and export of commodities. This position include tracking shipments, compiling and submitting the paperwork needed to clear items through customs, and resolving any problems that come up throughout the clearance process.
• Documentation Preparation: Assemble and examine import/export paperwork, including packing lists, invoices, certificates of origin, and customs declarations. • Verify that every documentation conforms to national, regional, and international laws and guidelines. • Customs Compliance: Keep abreast of modifications to tariffs and rules pertaining to customs. • Verify adherence to all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to customs. • Work together with customs officers to make sure shipments are cleared quickly and easily. • Coordination and Communication: To arrange the transportation of goods, coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transport businesses. • Keep clients informed about the progress of their shipments and address any concerns through communication. • Solving Problems: Find and fix any problems that could hold up the customs clearance procedure. • Ensure appropriate documentation and communication while handling inconsistencies and non-conformities. • Record-Keeping: Ensure that all customs clearance procedures are accurately documented. • Keep track of and preserve documentation for upcoming compliance audits and references. • Cost management: Keep an eye on and control the expenses related to the customs clearance procedure. • To get the greatest prices, haggle with service providers.
• A bachelor's degree in international trade, logistics, supply chain management, or a similar discipline. • [2] years of minimum experience in customs clearance or a related position. • Thorough familiarity with documents, tariffs, and customs rules. • Proficiency with tools and software for customs clearance. • Strong time-management and organizing abilities. • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities. • The capacity to multitask and perform well under duress. • Meticulous and highly capable of fixing problems.
