Overview

A mechanical project engineer is responsible for overseeing mechanical engineering projects from conception to completion. Their job involves designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems and components, ensuring they meet technical specifications and project requirements. They collaborate with other engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Create the project's mechanical designs, drawings, and requirements. • For the purpose of creating intricate mechanical designs, use CAD software (such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks). • Oversee multiple contractors • Create a monthly report on the status of payments and follow ups. • For suggested designs, carry out cost estimates and viability analyses. • In charge of commissioning, testing, and installing mechanical systems. • Make sure that every mechanical engineering task is finished on schedule and within the allotted budget. • Create component process plans in accordance with specifications for the introduction of new products (NPI). • To guarantee project integration and functionality, coordinate with contractors, stakeholders, and other engineering disciplines. • Give technical advice and assistance as needed for the duration of the project. • Investigate and fix problems with mechanical engineering that come up when a project is being worked on. • Analyze the underlying causes and put remedial measures in place. • Make certain that every mechanical system satisfies industry standards and project specifications. • Create and put into action quality control protocols. • Tests and inspections should be performed to confirm system compliance and performance. • Keep all project documentation, including reports, test results, and design modifications, correct and up to date. • Write technical reports and give project stakeholders an overview of your results. • Record best practices and lessons learned for next projects. • Make sure that all mechanical engineering operations adhere to health and safety guidelines. • Make risk assessments and put mitigating measures in place. • Encourage a safe culture among the project team members.

Requirements

• A mechanical engineering bachelor's or master's degree, or a comparable degree. • Five to ten years of experience in the building business is a need. • Needs to be knowledgeable and experienced with steel constructions. • Hold a Professional Engineering (PE) license or are pursuing one. • Proficiency in CAD programs (such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD). • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Interpersonal and communication abilities that work. • Capacity to cooperate with others in a group setting. • Knowledge of project management techniques and resources. • Familiarity with industry-specific norms and regulations. • Capacity to operate in a range of contexts, such as industrial plants, construction sites, and offices. • The ability to work longer hours in order to finish projects on time. • No limitations on travel, • Be able to live in Tema or Accra, Ghana
