Head Engineer

Overview

In your role as Chief Engineer, you will be in charge of all engineering and maintenance procedures for this esteemed hotel, including building automation, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. You will be directly responsible to the General Manager and will be essential to upholding the highest expectations of our guests in terms of sustainability, quality, and service.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement thorough preventative maintenance programs to increase the efficiency and uptime of your equipment. • Oversee a group of knowledgeable mechanics, technicians, and support personnel as they carry out capital projects, repairs, and maintenance. • Utilize predictive maintenance methods and data analytics to find areas for optimization. • Work cross-functionally with hotel management to match commercial goals with engineering priorities. • Verify that the hotel complies with all applicable construction rules, safety laws, and environmental compliance requirements. • Encourage the engineering department to adopt a culture of sustainability, safety, and ongoing development. • Oversee the hotel's engineering systems' continuous improvement programs to increase visitor satisfaction and promote operational excellence.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a related technical subject, such as mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering • Seven years minimum of experience in engineering, facilities management, or building operations, ideally at a high-end hotel • A track record of success in building and leading technical teams • Thorough understanding of building automation, life safety, plumbing, electrical, and commercial HVAC systems • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite and maintenance management software • Outstanding problem-solving, budgeting, and project management abilities • A keen sense of business and the capacity to interact with hotel management in an efficient manner • Dedication to sustainability, ongoing education, and workplace safety • A current driver's license and the capacity to respond to situations around-the-clock
