CCTV and Control Room Officer

Overview

The closed-circuit television (CCTV) and control room officer will be in charge of keeping an eye on the system, detecting and reacting to any suspicious activity, monitoring the CCTV, and working with the security team to keep the area safe and secure. The ideal applicant will have superior observational abilities, experience in security operations, and the capacity to function well under duress.

Responsibilities

CCTV surveillance and monitoring: • Make sure that all of the cameras in the Control Room are operating correctly and taking clear pictures by efficiently operating and monitoring all of the CCTV systems. • Watch both recorded and live video feeds to keep an eye out for any strange or suspicious activity occurring across the building. • Notify the Security Manager or other designated people right once of any incidents, breaches, or anomalies pertaining to security. • Make sure that any video that is captured is safely kept and accessible for use in investigations. Reaction to Incidents and Reporting: • In the event of a security crisis, coordinate with on-site security staff and emergency services to respond quickly and efficiently. • Keep thorough journals and recordings of every event, observation, and action taken throughout every shift. • Send the Security Manager accurate and timely reports of security occurrences so that appropriate action can be taken. • Help in the collection of data and reports for use in disciplinary or judicial proceedings. Coordinating and Communicating: • Effectively communicate with the security team stationed on the ground, giving them up-to-date information on any occurrences or any security risks. • When necessary, coordinate with outside emergency services, including the police, fire, and medical departments. • Make sure that the Control Room's communication systems are completely up and running, and that all employees are taught to utilize them. Upkeep and Administration of Systems: • Make sure that the CCTV system—which includes cameras, recorders, monitors, and other relevant equipment—is regularly inspected and tested. • For quick resolution, report any malfunctions or technical concerns to the relevant department. • Make sure that every piece of equipment is kept in good operating order and that any problems are fixed right away. Observance and Propriety: • Respect all applicable laws, rules, and company guidelines when it comes to using CCTV and managing video evidence. • Uphold the strictest secrecy when it comes to security protocols, video, and surveillance operations. • Make sure that all information and data gathered via CCTV surveillance is handled and kept in accordance with ethical and legal guidelines.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree or high school graduation, or the equivalent; extra certificates in the field of security are advantageous. • Three years of security-related experience, ideally gained in a CCTV monitoring or control room setting. • A track record of success in a security capacity, ideally in a control room or CCTV monitoring setup. • Strong understanding of control room procedures, CCTV systems, and surveillance technologies. • Outstanding focus for extended periods of time and meticulous attention to detail. • Good interpersonal skills and the capacity to function well in a group setting. • Capacity to maintain composure and act quickly under pressure. • Knowledge of pertinent laws and rules pertaining to data privacy and CCTV use.
