Data & Research Intern

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data & Research Intern to join our team. As a Data & Research Intern, you will assist in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to inform business decisions, drive strategy, and support research initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Encourage field research and survey management and operationalization. • Using data sets from multiple sources, assist in the design and development of visually appealing dashboards and data visualizations (maps, charts, and graphs). • Provide rigorous and honest support for the gathering and analysis of data, and select insights that are properly brief and available to a variety of audiences. • Encourage the analysis and visualization of quantitative data. • Work together with international research teams to execute quantitative projects in a way that guarantees the caliber of the client communications and findings. • Work together in person or virtually with other team members and stakeholders. • Uphold the strictest standards of client confidentiality and data security.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in computer science, statistical studies, demography, or any other data management-related discipline, as well as at least three years of database management expertise and three years of research, monitoring, and evaluation job experience are prerequisites. • Familiarity with programs like SurveyCTO, SurveyToGo, Survey Solutions, and others. • Proven proficiency in at least one programming language that is pertinent to numerical analysis (strong preference for R, Python, SPSS, Stata, etc.). • ICT abilities: Android tablets or phones, SQL, Access, Microsoft Excel. • strong cartography and mapping abilities. • Familiarity with relevant software tools and data collection techniques, both quantitative and/or qualitative. • Some familiarity with Tableau, Python, R, and other data visualization tools.
