Overview

In the accounting system, the senior accountant will make sure that every payment is promptly and precisely recorded. Assist the accounts manager and AFC in making sure that the balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flows, retained earnings, and other relevant corporate accounts are error-free.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and guarantee that all payments are made on schedule. • Make sure that all internal control, accounting, and financial procedures are strictly followed. • Communicate with other organisations to guarantee that SMS intercompany transactions are accurately and promptly recorded, together with sufficient supporting documentation. • Review all intercompany transactions once a week to find and fix any mistakes as soon as possible. • Communicate with program managers and the head of program quality to get clients' activity levels completed on a monthly basis so that revenue booking can happen on schedule. • Oversee and guarantee that client and grant income calculations, reservations, and salary distribution are completed on schedule. • To make sure all accounting transactions are handled correctly and in accordance with industry standards, audits are conducted. • creation of year-end accruals, prepayment and amortisation schedules, monthly journal entries, and accruals. • Manage or oversee the reconciliation of general ledgers. • Before posting, check that all of the data entered into the accounting system is accurate. • Oversee the Accounting Assistant's weekly report on imprest status and assist in following up on unresolved imprests. • Track the weekly progress of purchase orders and follow up with operations on billing and clearance. • The production of quarterly financial statements and the movement and confirmation of monthly CATF transactions.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in finance or accounting • Five years or more of experience in a related field • familiarity with reporting and grant handling • Being open to visiting rural areas to learn more about our business • Active and flexible in a multicultural setting, demonstrating strong accounting abilities and mathematical knowledge • possesses excellent supervisory skills • demonstrates excellent computer proficiency and familiarity with pertinent technologies. • Extensive understanding of financial software systems (SAP is advantageous) and a willingness to learn and adjust to new working methods are demonstrated. • Possesses outstanding multitasking abilities and organisational capabilities. • Shows the capacity for meticulous attention to detail.
