The Transportation Aide supports drivers by assisting with daily tasks such as loading and unloading goods, ensuring timely and safe deliveries, performing basic vehicle maintenance, and maintaining the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle. The role involves handling heavy and bulky items and requires attention to detail in securely stacking packages to prevent damage during transport. The aide must ensure proper organization within the vehicle to avoid damages while on the road.
• Assist the driver with loading and unloading goods onto the truck. • Act as a banksman when loading or unloading using a crane or forklift. • Help the driver locate delivery destinations. • Assist the driver in navigating traffic and avoiding delays. • Use pallet jacks or other equipment to move heavy loads. • Deliver goods to customers and obtain proof of delivery when third-party services are involved. • Support with paperwork and record-keeping as needed. • Communicate effectively with the driver, dispatch team, and customers. • Notify the driver of any route changes in coordination with the dispatch team. • Maintain inventories of equipment and report any defects to the Fleet and Logistics Coordinator.
• WASSCE or higher qualification. • Must be at least 18 years old. • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Customer-service oriented. Physical Requirements: • Able to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 25kg regularly. • Physically fit to handle long hours of standing, walking, and moving heavy objects.
