Overview

The Loan Officer is responsible for helping individuals and businesses secure loans by assessing their financial situation, providing guidance on loan options, and ensuring adherence to lending policies. This role requires strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills to effectively manage the loan process and minimize risks.

Responsibilities

Client Assessment and Loan Processing: • Meet with clients to understand their financial needs and suggest suitable loan options. • Assess loan applications by reviewing financial data, credit history, and repayment capabilities. • Ensure loan documentation is accurate and complies with the company’s lending policies. Loan Approval and Disbursement: • Prepare and submit loan proposals for approval by the credit committee or management. • Oversee loan disbursements according to approved terms and ensure proper documentation is completed. Portfolio Management: • Monitor loan accounts to ensure timely repayments and address any delinquent accounts. • Regularly follow up with clients to maintain a healthy portfolio. Risk Management and Recovery: • Identify potential risks in loan applications and recommend mitigation strategies. • Initiate recovery actions for overdue loans and collaborate with clients to resolve repayment issues. Customer Relationship Management: • Foster positive relationships with clients by providing outstanding service. • Educate clients about loan products, terms, and repayment plans to help them make informed decisions. Reporting and Documentation: • Keep accurate records of loan applications, approvals, disbursements, and repayments. • Prepare regular reports on loan performance and provide updates to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. • Proven experience as a Loan Officer or in a similar position within the financial industry. • Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills. • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite. • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
