Overview

The logistics associate will be crucial to the company's logistics operations, assisting with local sourcing and the effective flow of materials and commodities within the nation. Route optimization, carrier management, inland freight coordination, and internal cargo tracking are among the main duties.

Responsibilities

• Work together with the procurement team to manage suppliers and source locally for products and services. • Oversee transportation logistics and make sure local vendors deliver supplies and machinery on schedule. • To obtain advantageous terms and guarantee the provision of high-quality services, keep up and cultivate ties with local suppliers. • Ensure that all items are handled and stored effectively by supervising the onshore logistics activities for incoming shipments. • Collaborate with outside logistics companies to plan the delivery, tracking, and shipment of items. • Create and keep thorough shipping records, including invoices, tracking papers, and customs documentation. • Verify adherence to regional shipping laws and paperwork specifications. • Ensure that materials are ordered promptly and in accordance with project schedules by coordinating inventory level monitoring with the Inventory Management team. • To guarantee efficient and successful logistics and procurement processes, collaborate closely with internal stakeholders. • Inform top management on a regular basis on shipment tracking, logistical status, and any delays or problems. • Help with logistics forecasting and budgeting to ensure cost effectiveness.

Requirements

• Four or more years of experience in a comparable position, ideally in the oil and gas sector. • Adept with the Microsoft Office Suite, which includes Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. • Proficiency with software tailored to a particular sector, such as Sage or SAP. • Shown expertise in local and/or international shipping and procurement. • An advantage is familiarity with import/export procedures and customs. • Strong problem-solving and attention to detail abilities. • Capacity to fulfil deadlines and operate under pressure
