Overview

We have an opening at our Ghanaian offices for a leader with a proven track record in human resources.

The incumbent, who will report to the Managing Director, will oversee the organization's whole HR strategy, manage external partnerships with trade unions, employer associations, and regulatory bodies

Responsibilities

Design, develop and manage HR Strategy and Policy for the organization

 Establish and create the company's HR strategy, making sure it reflects the strategic goal of the organization.

Establish pertinent human resources policies and make sure they complement the company's and HR strategy.

Determine the main business issues, analyze them, and, if necessary, provide human resources interventions.

Oversee and administer the organization's compensation and benefits policies.

 

Manage the development of human capital capability and resources within the organization

Make sure that learning and development programs, especially those focused on management training and capability, are developed and implemented in a way that gives the company the necessary skills to accomplish its goals.

Supervision of the hiring process to guarantee adherence to rules and regulations, evaluation to guarantee efficiency, and preservation of service standards.

Intervention and support on a direct basis to meet national recruitment needs and maintain low attrition rates.

Monitoring important positions that need to be filled within the organization and doing so on schedule.

Oversee and control the HR department's operations to guarantee that strategic objectives are met.

Allocate company resources as efficiently as possible to meet the demands of human resource management.

 

Effective management of employee relations and industrial relations within the organization

Maintain an appropriate Industrial Relations environment and sound working relationships with Unions and other role players.

Display a comprehensive understanding of Ghana Labor Law as well as the various dynamics affecting the Ghana Security Sector in order to provide advice on strategic approaches to all matters affecting the Company from a labor and employee perspective. 

To support the drive to achieve high level employee engagement.

 

Development and maintenance of sound relationships both within the organization and with external parties.

Participate in external stakeholder forums and communicate with them to make sure business-related issues are covered.

Retain and strengthen ties with labor unions and other labor role actors.

Provide senior management and the executive team’s guidance on all matters pertaining to human resources.

 

Oversight and management of organization transformation and compliance

Create activities and interventions in Organization Development and Change Management to address the evolving demands and business requirements of the organization.

To create a plan and technique for change management.

To project manage and assist the company's change activities.

 

Management and development of direct reports

Every team member has a job profile that is well-defined and in line with the manager's profile. 

Make sure there are performance agreements in place and that goal reviews are conducted on a regular basis to evaluate results.

If necessary, implement the concepts and procedures of employee relations management or performance management.

To make sure that the goals are reached, consistently offer assistance, coaching (training), and mentoring.

Ensure completed development plans for each employee

Allocation resources appropriately to ensure operational demands are met

Ensure that events/activities taking place in team are effectively communicated within the team and to other teams requiring the information

Ensure adequate succession planning to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirements

 

Health and Safety

Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of H&S plans for each year.

Participate in safety forums created by company - safety meetings, talks, education and refresher programmes.

Oversee all H&S reporting requirements with the H&S Officer.

Comply with safety policies and procedures at workplace.

Distribute safety information as and when required.

Requirements

B.Comm/B.A Honors qualification

5 – 10 Years’ experience (last 3 years at a Snr Management Level)

Generalist experience of HR practice in a labor intensive service industry

Bulk recruitment experience
