Senior Accountant

Overview

A senior accountant is needed by a finance and accounting consulting company in Accra.

In addition to preparing and reviewing management and statutory accounts and timely filing of monthly VAT returns, the Senior Accountant is in charge of upholding correct accounting records.

Responsibilities

Use a variety of accounting software systems, such as Sage Line 50, Xero, QuickBooks, and Tally ERP9, to keep records for clients.

In order to finish the monthly reporting procedures, process transactions, create and post journals, update ledgers, and carry out bank reconciliation and cash book analysis.

Create and go over client management and statutory accounts using software programs.

By responding to inquiries and organizing educational sessions, you can assist subordinate accounts and other employees.

Monthly VAT return preparation and submission for several clients.

Requirements

Bachelor / Masters of Science in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree with additional certification (ACCA, ACA, ICAG or CIMA)

 Advanced Knowledge in Microsoft Office application especially excel Knowledge of accounting packages preferred (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero and Tally ERP9) 

Minimum of 3 years plus experience in accountancy

 Strong financial analysis skills.
