We are looking for a dedicated Compliance Officer to manage client onboarding, make sure KYC/KYB regulations are followed, keep an eye on transactions, and reduce the risks of money laundering and trade-based money laundering (TBML) in order to fortify our compliance framework.
• To make sure internal and legal standards are being met, examine and confirm clients' KYC (Know Your Customer) and KYB (Know Your Business) documents. • Verify the backgrounds of stated directors, shareholders, and contact people to make sure they are not on any AML sanction lists or politically exposed individuals (PEPs). • Prior to onboarding, confirm the validity of the customer using external research tools and internal verification platforms. • Make sure that all necessary paperwork is correct, comprehensive, and updated on a regular basis in accordance with industry standards. • To guarantee ongoing adherence to AML and regulatory requirements, check and update client records on a regular basis. • Verify clients, business associates, and important stakeholders on a regular basis against local and international sanction lists. • Make ensuring that customers' business operations stay within the parameters of their registration and that the commodities they trade correspond to their registered activity. • Find and mark any modifications to client structures that could point to possible risk issues, such ownership transfers or unreported affiliations. • To identify and stop any trade-based money laundering (TBML) operations, keep an eye on transactions. • Examine trade routes for complexity to make sure we don't encourage transactions that go through restricted or high-risk jurisdictions. • To avoid possible collusion, determine if directors or holding structures significantly connect related parties in a trading transaction. • Make sure that every deal made on the platform complies with restricted business lists and international sanction requirements. • Make ensuring that all transaction paperwork is current and in compliance with internal and regulatory standards by collaborating closely with Account Managers, Credit Teams, and Finance. • Audit trade records on a regular basis to find any inconsistencies or missing paperwork. • Make sure that all completed and ongoing transactions have the accompanying documentation needed to prove their authenticity.
• A bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, law, or a similar discipline. • At least two to three years of experience working for a regulated financial institution in positions involving trade finance, risk management, compliance, or AML. • Strong knowledge of TBML risk factors, AML laws, and KYC/KYB procedures. • Knowledge of international sanction lists, such as those maintained by the UN, EU, and OFAC. • Familiarity with transaction monitoring tools and platforms for compliance verification. • Outstanding investigative and analytical abilities with a strong focus on details. • The capacity to enforce compliance procedures both independently and cooperatively across departments. • Excellent communication abilities both in writing and speaking, as well as the capacity to efficiently record and convey compliance findings.
