Overview

Finding premium supplies, machinery, and equipment while maintaining cost-effectiveness and adherence to corporate regulations is the responsibility of the procurement officer. To avoid project delays brought on by shortages, this position entails locating and assessing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and overseeing procurement procedures.

Responsibilities

• Find trustworthy suppliers and subcontractors, assess them, and build connections with them. • In order to accomplish cost-effective procurement without sacrificing quality, negotiate contracts, conditions, and price. • Obtain top-notch building supplies, tools, and machines. • Purchase orders should be prepared and processed with the appropriate paperwork and permissions. • To avoid project delays brought on by shortages, keep an eye on stock levels and schedule orders. • Examine and contrast quotes to make sure they are cost-effective. • Keep tabs on procurement costs and make sure purchases stay within your spending limit. • Find ways to save costs and, if required, suggest substitute suppliers or supplies. • Verify that procurement procedures adhere to legal requirements, industry standards, and corporate policies. • Keep current records of supplier agreements, inventory reports, and procurement activities. • Create and provide procurement reports to management on a regular basis.

Requirements

• HND or degree in supply chain management, procurement, or a similar discipline. • Eight or more years of procurement experience, ideally in the building sector. • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiating abilities. • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and procurement software. • Understanding of the best practices for procurement, suppliers, materials, and the building environment. • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. • The capacity to fulfil deadlines and work under duress. • The capacity to operate with little oversight.
