Overview

To supervise and give shift instructions to the mining contractor regarding the operational tasks performed by the mine crew in the open pit area, making sure that the contractors fulfill production goals, operational guidelines, and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

Work together with mining contractors to ensure that project specifications, safety guidelines, and output goals are met.

To make sure that contractors are adhering to project timeframes and production targets, track and assess their performance.

Work together with contractors to efficiently manage resources, such as labor, tools, and supplies, while staying within the allocated budget.

Send senior management progress reports on a regular basis that emphasize accomplishments, difficulties, and suggested fixes.

Openly and honestly discuss with contractors the objectives of the project, your expectations, and any changes to the plan.

Work together with contractors to maximize material transportation, equipment utilization, and mining processes.

Examine the quality of the job on a regular basis and offer suggestions for improvement.

Put quality control procedures in place and keep an eye on them to make sure mining operations adhere to contractual requirements and standards.

Carry out any additional responsibilities in line with the needs of the business.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in mining engineering or a related field is the minimal qualification (s).

A minimum of five years' experience working as a supervisor in a contractor management capacity and a track record of success in mining operations.

Competency Certificate for Mine Captains or Minerals Commission Formen.

A valid driver's license (minimum license B) issued in Ghana

Demonstrated expertise and understanding of mining machinery.

Familiarity with large-scale hard rock mining via open pit.

In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and environmental compliance.

Must demonstrate well-developed oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with contractors.

Ability to apply knowledge of standards, methods, and procedures to work situations.

Ability to foster a culture of safety awareness and compliance among team members, always promoting a safe working environment.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
