TRUCK ASSISTANT

Overview

As a Truck Assistant, you will work closely with the Truck Driver to assist in the loading, unloading, and transportation of goods using company vehicles. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe handling and secure transportation of cargo while providing support to the Truck Driver as needed.

Responsibilities

1. Assist the Truck Driver in the loading and unloading of goods onto and off of the truck. 2. Secure cargo using straps, chains, or other securing methods to prevent shifting or damage during transportation. 3. Inspect and maintain the condition of cargo to ensure it meets company standards and regulatory requirements. 4. Assist in conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and report any mechanical issues or defects to the Truck Driver or supervisor. 5. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the truck and cargo area, both before and after each trip. 6. Provide assistance to the Truck Driver during navigation, parking, and maneuvering of the truck as needed. 7. Communicate effectively with the Truck Driver and other team members to coordinate loading and delivery schedules. 8. Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road and during loading and unloading activities. 9. Assist with paperwork and documentation related to cargo handling, transportation, and delivery. 10. Provide exceptional customer service to clients and stakeholders during transportation activities.

Requirements

1. Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry. 2. Strong physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects. 3. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. 4. Attention to detail and commitment to safety. 5. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under pressure. 6. Valid driver's license and clean driving record (if required for driving responsibilities). 7. Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings as required. 8. Flexibility to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed. 9. Familiarity with basic tools and equipment used in cargo handling and transportation. LOCATION: KUTUNSE
