This role provides management and leadership, reporting to the general manager. The chosen applicant will be in charge of assisting the Mine Manager in making sure that security measures, rules, and guidelines are followed in order to preserve a secure working environment. This position is in charge of putting security measures in place and overseeing them in order to protect company property, personnel, and business operations. The chosen applicant will be essential in reducing the dangers of theft, damage, and unauthorized access. According to the Minerals and Mining Regulations on Local Content, only Ghanaians are eligible for this position.
• Create and put into place security policies and processes to guarantee the safety of all company assets, such as tangible property, confidential data, and intellectual property. • Identify potential security flaws and suggest suitable fixes by conducting routine risk assessments and audits. • In charge of a skilled, confident, self-aware, and capable security team. • Work together with cross-functional teams to create and carry out thorough security training programs for staff members. • The company's alarm, access control, and video surveillance systems are all under monitoring and management. • Uphold a solid working rapport with neighborhood law enforcement organizations and any security firms the company hires, and collaborate with them as needed. • Examine and document any security incidents or breaches, making sure the necessary steps are done to stop them from happening again. • To guarantee that security regulations are being followed, run background checks and screens on prospective employees, suppliers, and contractors. • Encourage the creation of emergency response plans and oversee their implementation, including the protocols for evacuation and crisis management. • Keep abreast with security technology developments and industry best practices, and offer suggestions for enhancement when needed. • Oversee security budgets and make sure that economical solutions are used. • Collaborate with Health and Safety to ensure the secure and effective transportation of valuable minerals to designated destinations.
• Preferably, you have a bachelor's or advanced degree in security management, criminal justice, or a similar discipline. • Prior law enforcement official experience is strongly encouraged. • 8 years minimum of experience in security management, loss prevention, or a related function with substantial background in Ghana's mining sector. • Demonstrated expertise in security technology, including alarm systems, access control systems, and video surveillance. • Solid knowledge of security laws, rules, and best practices. • Strong intellectual and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to make wise choices under duress. • Proficiency in interpersonal and communication, with the capacity to establish connections and work together with both internal and external stakeholders. • Strong organizing and detail-oriented abilities. • Knowledgeable about other security-related software programs and the Microsoft Office Suite. Skills (Competencies and abilities required for position) • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Certified First Aider is required. • Knowledge of Ghanaian mining systems and regulations. • Ability to deliver in a dynamic, complex environment. • Ability to identify and evaluate risks and implement appropriate mitigation plans.
