Overview

Managing financial records, guaranteeing accuracy in financial reporting, and promoting the organization's general financial health are all important tasks for accountants. In order to preserve fiscal integrity, you will be responsible for creating financial statements, evaluating financial data, and working with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Financial Record-Keeping: Ensure that accounting systems, ledgers, and financial records are up to date and maintained. • Verify the completeness and accuracy of the financial data. • Financial reporting involves creating and evaluating balance sheets, cash flow statements, and income statements. • Provide management with reports to help in decision-making. • Forecasting and Budgeting: Provide support in creating predictions and budgets. • Analyze variances and compare actual financial performance to planned goals. • Payroll Processing: Manage the payroll process, which involves figuring out taxes, deductions, and wages. Make sure that salaries are paid to employees on time and accurately, adhering to corporate policy and labor laws. • Tax Compliance: Make sure that all taxes, including VAT, are filed and paid on time. • Payroll should be prepared and timely PAYE returns, SSNIT, and filings filed. • Support for Audits: Assist auditors with both internal and external audits. • Answer audit questions with the appropriate documents and justifications. • Financial Analysis: To find patterns, deviations, and areas for development, perform financial analysis. • Provide suggestions for raising revenue and cutting expenses. • Bank statements, accounts, and other financial disparities should all be reconciled. • Quickly look into and settle any discrepancies. • Compliance and Controls: To protect financial assets, establish and uphold internal controls. • Make ensuring that corporate policies and accounting principles are followed. • Effectively communicate financial facts to stakeholders who are not in the financial industry. • Work together with other departments to collect and examine financial information.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a similar discipline. It is advantageous to get a professional qualification such an ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant). • A track record of success as an accountant, ideally in the public or corporate accounting sector. • Four years of experience minimum. • Solid understanding of accounting rules, procedures, and principles. • Proficiency with financial management tools, QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and accounting software, among others. • Analytical and focused on the details. • Strong time-management and organizing abilities.
