Crane Operator

Overview

Being a Crane Operator is an important and skilled role in the construction and heavy equipment industry. Crane Operators are responsible for operating various types of cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials and objects on construction sites or in industrial settings. They must have a deep understanding of crane operations, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance. Crane Operators work closely with other team members, such as signalers and riggers, to ensure safe and efficient lifting operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate various types of cranes safely and efficiently. • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure work environment. • Inspect and maintain the crane and its components regularly. • Interpret and follow signals from signalers to execute lifting operations. • Lift and move heavy materials and objects according to project specifications. • Ensure proper rigging and attachment of loads to the crane. • Monitor and adjust crane controls to maintain stability and accuracy. • Collaborate with team members to coordinate lifting operations. • Keep accurate records of crane activities, including maintenance and inspections. • Continuously update knowledge of crane operations and safety regulations.

Requirements

• A current license or certification is required to operate crawler and mobile cranes. • Shown expertise with crawler and mobile cranes in an industrial or construction environment. • Familiarity with maintenance, safety protocols, and crane operations. • Strong knowledge of load capacity and weight restrictions. • The capacity to decipher and adhere to instructions, schematics, and plans. • Excellent physical dexterity and hand-eye coordination. • Excellent focus on detail and a safety-first attitude. • Strong interpersonal and collaborative abilities. • The capacity to fulfill deadlines and work in a fast-paced atmosphere. • The ability to work in the evenings or on the weekends as needed. • Fluency in both French and English.
