Transport Officer

Overview

The Transport Officer will be in charge of managing the whole fleet of the company, making sure that all vehicles are maintained properly, keeping an eye on fuel usage, and making sure that all vehicles are registered and licensed. They might also be in charge of hiring and training new drivers, organizing effective routes, and making sure rules are followed. The Transport Officer serves as a central point of contact, answering driver questions and resolving any issues pertaining to transportation through careful record-keeping and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning and coordination of transportation operations. • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards. • Manage and maintain vehicle fleets, including scheduling maintenance and repairs. • Develop and implement efficient transportation routes to optimize delivery times. • Monitor and track vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and driver performance. • Coordinate with drivers and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. • Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including expenses and documentation. • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety standards. • Train and supervise transportation staff, including drivers and support personnel. • Collaborate with other departments to streamline transportation processes and improve efficiency.

Requirements
