Database Management-SQL SME

Overview

One of your main responsibilities as a Database Management-SQL SME will be to support our SQL infrastructure. Your skills will be vital in maintaining and optimizing our SQL Server infrastructure. You'll be in the forefront of guaranteeing flawless database operations, from installation and configuration to performance tweaking and backup techniques.

Responsibilities

• Installation and Configuration: In both single and cluster modes, set up and configure SQL Server. • Database Support: Offer assistance with development and production SQL 2008/2012 databases. • Troubleshooting: Maintain and troubleshoot SQL on Windows Servers. • Replication and Clustering: Leverage your skills in replication, log shipping, and clustering. • Maintenance Schedules: Establish and oversee schedules and tasks for defragmenting and updating statistics. • Resource Optimization: Check the server's resources to ensure maximum efficiency. • Performance Monitoring: Capture performance information using monitoring tools. • Backup Policies: Specify retention plans and backup policies. • Backup Verification: Run restoration and backup exercises under various conditions. • Practical knowledge with license administration, version upgrades, and database administration. • Manage P1 and P2 incidents as well as modification requests under incident management. • Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with OEMs and vendors for optimal management. • Technology Refresh: Lead your domain's technology refresh activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree: An appropriate degree in information technology, computer science, or a similar discipline. • Experience: Eight years or more of managing SQL databases. • Credentials: Having a SQL Server credential is advantageous. • Skills: Mastery of performance tweaking, clustering, and replication. • Effectively cooperate with cross-functional teams as a team player. • Problem solver: Use an analytical approach to solve challenging problems. • Communication: Proficient both in writing and speaking.
