Overview

In addition to other responsibilities include cleaning, assembling, inspecting, packaging, and sterilizing surgical instruments and medical equipment, this person is in charge of making sure that sterile medical devices are processed and supplied.

Responsibilities

• Instrument trays should be assembled, wrapped, and sterilized in addition to medical supplies, equipment, and instruments being decontaminated and sterilized. When in regions that are being sterilized or decontaminated, take the appropriate precautions. • Medical supplies, trays, and mismatched sets of instruments should be sorted and promptly made accessible to sterile processing clients. • Inventory needs include restocking, labeling, and upkeep; requests should be made; and instruments, trays, crash carts, and facility medical equipment should be gathered and dispersed. • Carry out environmental maintenance tasks and help to keep inventory levels in the operation room, sterile processing, and equipment storage rooms. • Check that all equipment is operating as it should, create requests for maintenance, replacement, or repair, and take out any broken equipment. • To guarantee the quality and uniformity of the wash solution used to biologically and chemically decontaminate instruments and medical equipment, keep an eye on it. • Sterilizing apparatus leaning. • Recording the results of sterilizer tests. • Keeping the workspace tidy.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree, CSSD certification, or diploma. • Certification from the CSSD Foundation Course, or the capacity to get one within a year of beginning work. • Two to three years of theater or CSSD experience. • The capacity to collaborate with others.
