We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic person to work as a program assistant in our team. This position presents a rare chance for learning and professional development. In order to assist the organization's programmatic initiatives, including proposal preparation, project management, and other program-related responsibilities, the Program Assistant will be essential. To guarantee smooth organizational operations, the Program Assistant will also assist the Executive Director administratively.
• Help in the creation and composition of concept notes, grant applications, and project proposals in order to get money for the work being done. • Help coordinate with partner organizations and stakeholders in order to support the development, execution, and oversight of organization’s initiatives and programs. • In order to further improve WADPN's advocacy activities and program creation, support research on drug policy concerns, human rights, public health, and other pertinent topics is needed. • Help the Executive Director with administrative tasks such as meeting scheduling and letter management. • Help with the creation of communication materials to engage stakeholders and spread the word about organization’s activities, such as newsletters, reports, and social media content. • Support WADPN in organizing and carrying out its events, seminars, and conferences, including participant coordination and logistical preparation. • To improve cooperation and support for the mission and objectives of WADPN, cultivate connections with partner organizations, governmental organizations, funders, and other stakeholders.
• A bachelor's degree in a relevant subject, such public health, social sciences, international relations, or a similar topic. • Proposal writing, project management, and program coordinating experience—ideally gained in the nonprofit or advocacy fields. • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities, with the capacity to successfully handle several projects and deadlines. • Strong communication abilities both in writing and speaking, with the capacity to persuade others to understand and accept complicated concepts. • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, and other pertinent software programs. • It is preferable to have knowledge of drug policy matters, gender, human rights, public health, or similar disciplines in the context of West Africa. • It is necessary to speak English fluently, and knowledge of French is advantageous.
