Librarian

Overview

In addition to providing library teaching, the librarian will be in charge of organizing metadata, administering library services, and putting Library Science ideas into practice. The librarian will be essential to the college's academic programs and to making materials easier for instructors and students to access.

Responsibilities

• Cataloging and classifying library materials • Developing and maintaining library collections • Providing research assistance and instruction to patrons • Teaching information literacy skills • Creating and leading programs for children and adults • Collaborating with community organizations and outreach services • Managing library staff and volunteers • Maintaining library facilities and equipment • Staying current with new technologies and trends in librarianship

Requirements

• Strong understanding of the concepts and procedures of library management with experience in metadata management, library services, and library science • Capacity to Deliver Efficient Library Instruction • Demonstrated organizational and analytical skills • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities • A bachelor's degree in library science or a closely related discipline; ideally, you have experience working in a hospital or educational context.
